International Association of Great Lakes Researchers 2020 Conference in Winnipeg

IISD Experimental Lakes Area—the world’s freshwater laboratory—is proud to present IAGLR’s 63rd Annual Conference, 2020: Focusing on the Future, in Winnipeg, Canada.

Be sure to mark it in your calendars from June 8 to 12, 2020.

Scientists from across the globe will gather in the heart of North America for IAGLR’s 63rd Annual Conference on Great Lakes Research. Hosted by IISD Experimental Lakes Area, the conference will feature four days of scientific sessions, speakers and discussions centred around the theme 2020: Focusing on the Future.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit the IISD-ELA research station and learn about its approach to using whole-lake experiments to inform large lake management and policy.

While the conference, is very much in the initial planning stages, we have already announced a call for sessions and workshops, with a deadline of November 15, 2019.

Propose a session or workshop for IAGLR20 – Due Nov. 15

Interested in organizing a scientific session or workshop for IAGLR 2020 in Winnipeg, Canada? The Call for Sessions & Workshops is now open. Researchers will gather June 8-12, 2020, for the 63rd annual Conference on Great Lakes Research hosted by the IISD Experimental Lakes Area. In keeping with the conference theme 2020: Focusing on the Future, we welcome sessions that integrate and connect disciplines and ideas for large lake ecosystems and their watersheds including invasive species, watershed and lake water quality, and climate change. The call includes examples of session topics, but we are not limited to those listed. If you don’t see what you want to hear about, take this opportunity to propose new and interesting relevant topics. We welcome and encourage other session topics! We also welcome submissions from groups interested in hosting a workshop on the Monday or Friday of conference week. Read the call for details. Deadline: November 15, 2019.

IAGLR20 website opens

Save the date for IAGLR20, which heads to Winnipeg, Manitoba, in the heart of Canada June 8–12, 2020. We’ll be adding details over time, but mark your calendars now. You won’t want to miss it! In addition to our four days of awesome scientific sessions and networking opportunities, you’ll have an opportunity to visit IISD Experimental Lakes Area.
