Experience Requirements:
 
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and ability to updates websites using WordPress. and; ability to cope with juggling multiple tasks across diverse projects in an organized and timely manner; attention to detail. Knowledge of social media and virtual communications channels is desirable, as is experience of writing copy for online audiences.
 
The consultant is expected to work support colleagues in implementing communications strategies and work plans. The consultant should have the ability to establish and maintain good working relations in a multicultural and geographically dispersed environment across teams. A hands-on, pragmatic approach is desirable. A University degree required in communications, marketing, international relations, business, event management, public relations or a related field. At least two years working experience is required in PR, communications, marketing and /or events.
 
Up-to-date proficiency with communications best practices, including social media. Experience in using webinars and online meeting platforms, event coordination and website updates. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in written and oral English is required. Working knowledge of other UN languages is desirable.
